The Canimoove17 sports association is organizing its first canicross race on Sunday October 20, 2024, starting from the Taugon pond (former Pôle Nature) in the Poitevin marsh.

The race will take place on Sunday with the possibility of reconnaissance on Saturday afternoon from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Possibility of collecting bibs with veterinary check and equipment on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.



There will be car parks (several small hard ones in the town of Taugon and a large one in a field) and a camper van park area (for a fee), as well as a refreshment bar, stands and catering. A function room will be rented for the hard structure (in case of bad weather and for eating inside) as well as football changing rooms for showers. On the program:

- Reception from 6 a.m.

- 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. collection of bibs, veterinary check and equipment

- 7:50 a.m. mandatory briefing without dogs

- 8:30 a.m. departure Canitrottinette (6.4 km) departure 1/1 every 30 seconds

- 9:15 a.m. CaniVTT departure (6.4 km) departure 1/1 every 30 seconds

- 10am long Canicross departure (6.4km) departure 2/2 every 30s

- 11am short Canicross start (3.3km) start 2/2 every 30s

- 11:45 Children's briefing

- 12:15 p.m. departure Minimes (2.5 km) departure 1/1 every 30 seconds

- 12:45 p.m. departure Benjamin (1.4 km) departure 1/1 every 30 seconds to follow Canibaby (from 3 years old 50m)

- 1:45 p.m. start of Relay (3 times 1.4 km): runner, caniVTT or scooter, canicross

- 3:00 p.m.: Raffle and Presentation of trophies/awards

The race will also bring together families and the public who can attend the race for free in a dog village with stands dedicated to dog sports and its partners as well as a refreshment bar and catering.

On site you will find equipment stands for canicross, caniVTT and canitrottinette, dog treat stands, the Liversois dog club. There will be a ham to win before the trophies are presented.

The Sainbol restaurant in Benon will offer a sausage rougail on Sunday lunchtime as well as a vegetarian option.
